For Abby and Triton, it was all about being in the right place at the right time - or more specifically, at the right rugby club at the right time. This was the unlikely setting where their paths first crossed. While that exact moment didn’t spark a rom-com-style whirlwind, it did catch Triton’s attention. And, in true Triton fashion, it took a while before he actually said anything. According to Abby, the man of few words needed a few days (and perhaps a gentle nudge) before conversation truly kicked off.

But whatever the timeline, it was clearly worth the wait.​
Their relationship grew, one easygoing step at a time, and before long, things were getting serious. Serious enough that they decided it was time for their first major commitment together — no, not a wedding just yet — a dog. Enter Moose. This four-legged legend didn’t just capture their hearts but also inspired a major life move: buying a house. Because, of course, a dog deserves a roof over his head, and these two were determined to be responsible pup parents.

Over the next nine years, Abby and Triton built a full and adventurous life together — with Moose happily along for the ride. Whether winning dog derbies (yes, they’ve triumphed at the Queenstown Dog Derby three times), renovating homes, or making time for sports, concerts, and the occasional quiet night in, their bond only grew stronger. Their relationship isn’t just filled with fun — it’s built on shared goals, mutual respect, and a whole lot of laughter.

When asked to describe themselves, they both landed on the same words: fun, easygoing, laidback. But behind that relaxed exterior is a couple that works incredibly hard — one filled with big ideas (Abby) and someone who makes sure those ideas happen (Triton).
Abby admires Triton’s calm steadiness, his honesty, and a loyalty that’s not easily shaken. And Triton? He loves Abby’s determination, her thoughtful nature, and yes, even her stubbornness — something she insists he’s grown to adore. She’s the one with a knack for organization; he’s the one who brings balance and quiet strength.

From promising to keep laughing (and annoying each other) to vowing to support one another's dreams and always have each other’s backs — Abby and Triton’s promises were a testament to a love that’s been years in the making.
